From July 26 to 29, Cai Dianwei, chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), led a delegation to carry out a three-day economic and trade inspection in Senegal.

On the morning of July 27, Cai and his delegation visited the Chinese embassy in the Republic of Senegal, where they discussed the group’s market development in Senegal with Ambassador Xiao Han.

Xiao welcomed Cai and his delegation and introduced Senegal’s political and economic situation as well as bilateral relations between China and Senegal. He highly praised HCIG’s outstanding construction capabilities and appreciated the group’s continuous efforts in expanding Senegal’s market since 2015.

Xiao expressed gratitude to the group for constructing a first-class modern wrestling stadium in Senegal, acknowledging the group’s outstanding performance and sense of responsibility in project construction.

He emphasized that the wrestling stadium, after being completed and put into use, still serves as a landmark in Dakar even today. The project is a model of cooperation between China and Senegal and symbolizes the friendship between the two nations.

He pointed out that the foundation for cooperation between the two sides is solid and hoped that the group will continue to deepen practical cooperation in various fields in Senegal.

Cai stated that the overseas business of the group spans over 30 countries and regions worldwide, and it boasts rich experience in overseas project investment and construction.

The group attaches great importance to the Senegalese market and has foraged a profound friendship with Senegal since it undertook the construction of the competitive wrestling stadium in 2016.

He emphasized that in the future, the group will participate in more infrastructure and livelihood projects, actively expand economic and trade cooperation, and enhance cultural exchanges between the two countries to foster closer ties and more effective cooperation.

During the visit, HCIG and Chinese embassy in Senegal reached a consensus on cooperation. In the future, the group will continue to develop the Senegalese market, contributing to a bright future for Sino-Senegalese relations.
