Chairman Cai delivers a speech at 4th CAETE

The fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) opened in Changsha International Convention Center of Hunan Province on the morning of June 12. Cai Dianwei, chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech at the Exchange Event on China-Africa Infrastructure Cooperation.

Tan Ding, vice chairman and general manager of HCIG, as well as leaders Liu Yiqi and Fang Zheng, participated in relevant activities.

The 4th CAETE is one of the most important exchange activities between China and Africa in the field of economy and trade this year. With the theme of “China and Africa: Together Toward Modernization”, over 4,700 Chinese and African companies as well as over 30,000 participants attended the four-day event.

As an important event of this year's expo, the Exchange Event on China-Africa Infrastructure Cooperation was held on the afternoon of June 12.

Ugandan Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Li Zhen, deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and Li Jianzhong, deputy governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province attended and delivered speeches.

Cai Dianwei, on behalf of HCIG, shared experiences and practices on how to seek high-quality Belt and Road cooperation at the theme seminar.

Cai Dianwei stated that the group has been developing international business since the 1960s. In recent years, it has actively played the main role in building “Three Highlands and Four New Missions” and the leading role in the goal of “Hunan Enterprises going global”.

Through measures such as “firmly practicing the concept of sustainable development, vigorously implementing localized development strategies and actively promoting the development of industrial chains, it has gradually grown into the largest foreign trade and economic enterprise in Hunan Province.

The group will further leverage the advantages of the entire industry chain, enhance its investment, construction, and operation capabilities, fully utilize the overflow effects of international engineering and international trade, reinvest the profits from overseas projects to better promote local industrial upgrading and fulfill social responsibilities.

Together with African friends, they will work together to build a China-Africa community with a shared future and promote modernization in China and Africa.

Hunan Fourth Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Madagascar Sunshine Mining Sarlu for exploration, mining, and ore processing for key projects including the Toliara Copper Mine and Mananjary Gold Mine in Madagascar.

HCEG Building Materials Co. Ltd. signed an agreement with Xiamen Naruisi Trading Company for the steel trade project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

HCIG attached great importance to this expo, and organized its subsidiaries to participate in the expo. It showcased its brand strength and project construction advantages with themes such as building industrialization, smart transportation and green buildings, attracting many foreign guests, government representatives at all levels, and industry association leaders.

Now, the group has set up 20 overseas agencies in 15 African countries, and 66 projects in 17 African countries. It has successively built a number of landmark projects such as the China-aided Competitive Wrestling Stadium project in Senegal, the China-aided Presidential Palace project in Burundi, and the No.1 National Highway in the Republic of the Congo.
