On January 23, Hunan Road & Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd.(HNRB), a subsidiary of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), won the bid for the restoration and upgrading of the Dangala-Guliston Highway in Tajikistan, with a total contract amount of approximately US $102.5 million. This is the second large-scale highway project won by HNRB in Tajikistan.

The project is located in Khatlon of Tajikistan, with a total length of 48.82 kilometers and four lanes in both directions. The main construction includes earthwork, graded crushed stone base, asphalt concrete surface layer, 3 bridges, 14 box culverts, streetlights along a 2.9-kilometers road, tri-network upgrading, and other ancillary works, with a construction period of 1,095 days.

After the completion of the project, it will effectively alleviate local traffic pressure, enhance transportation capacity, improve the livelihoods of surrounding residents, and increase employment rates. Besides, it will also design bicycle lanes and sidewalks for women with children and people with disabilities, which can provide convenience and safety guarantees for the travel of vulnerable groups around the project.

This project is the first green corridor demonstration project in Tajikistan. It reflects the recognition of the company’s performance ability by the owner unit, lays a solid foundation for the group to cultivate the Tajikistan market, and plays a positive role in further consolidating the group’s competitive advantage in the Central and North Asian markets and enhancing the company’s brand image.
