In order to actively implement the “Belt and Road” initiative, further consolidate the West African market, and contribute the power of state-owned enterprises to Hunan-Africa cooperation, Cai Dianwei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), led a delegation of HCIG to Côte d’Ivoire to carry out a three-day economic and trade investigation activity from July 23 to 26.

On the morning of July 24 local time, Cai Dianwei and his delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and exchanged views with Ambassador Wu Jie and Lu Jun, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy on the group’s project cooperation in Côte d’Ivoire.

Ambassador Wu Jie welcomed the delegation and introduced the political and economic situation in Côte d'Ivoire and bilateral relations between China and Côte d'Ivoire. He spoke highly of HCIG’s excellent construction capabilities and expressed his appreciation for the group’s continuous efforts to develop Côte d'Ivoire’s market since 2019.

He hoped that the group could further explore Côte d'Ivoire’s market, seize opportunities to establish the non-resource-oriented industrial chain, operate in compliance with laws and innovate cooperation models. The Embassy will continue to provide multifaceted support and assistance for the group to carry out work in Côte d'Ivoire.

Cai Dianwei reported in detail about the development of the group’s overseas business. He also said that with the overseas business covering more than 30 countries and regions around the world, HCIG has obtained rich experience in overseas project investment and construction. The group attaches great importance to Côte d'Ivoire’s market and is full of confidence in its development in Côte d'Ivoire.
 

 

At the same time, he introduced that the group adopts the cooperation model of “industry plus trade” for the agricultural products processing plant project in Côte d'Ivoire, and drives the production and operation as well as the import and export trade of non-resource products by engineering construction. The project model is the first of its kind in China and will add luster to the in-depth economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa.

In the future, in accordance with the requirements of the Embassy, the group will earnestly fulfill its responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise, improve the cooperation level with Côte d'Ivoire in all aspects and fields, continue to cultivate the local market, build more high-standard and sustainable projects benefit the local people, better serve the local economic and social development of Côte d'Ivoire, and contribute to the new chapter of China-Africa practical cooperation.
 
The delegation’s visit and exchanges have laid a solid foundation for the group to further expand its business territory in Côte d’Ivoire. In the future, both parties will strive to achieve common prosperity on the basis of mutual benefits, and continue to inject new impetus into the bright future of China and Cote d’Ivoire for the “Belt and Road” cooperation.
