HCIG participates in the 3rd CAETE
From June 29 to July 2, the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) was held in Changsha. Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) organized multiple subsidiaries to participate and showcase the group’s strength and advantages in project construction, achieving fruitful results. Cai Dianwei, chairman of the company, and Zhou Xiongfei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice chairman attended the opening ceremony.
During the expo with the theme of “Common Development for a Shared Future”, over 40 events covering various topics was held, such as green infrastructure construction, customs quarantine, medicine and health, agricultural products, light and textile industry, industrial parks, women and youth empowerment, and vocational education.
During the expo, HCIG signed strategic cooperation agreements with the China Construction Bank Hunan Branch and the Export-Import Bank of China Hunan Branch for overseas projects. It also signed contracts for several other projects, including the 20MWp ground centralized photovoltaic grid-connected project in Guinea-Bissau, the Sentuo oil refinery phase II project in Ghana, and the China-Kenya economic and trade incubation park phase II project, with a total contract value of US$520 million.
During the event, Maria Antónia Nerumba, governor of Bengo Province of Angola, Alkache Alhada, minister of Commerce of Niger, and Fang Qiuchen, president of the China International Contractors Association, visited the group for exchanges.
The group was invited to participate in the Inauguration Ceremony of the Consulate General of the Republic of Malawi in Changsha and the Investment Promotion Conference of Gansu Province. It signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Qingyang City, Gansu Province.
The group’s international business began in the 1950s when its affiliated enterprises participated in foreign aid projects through labor services.
After generations of efforts, HCIG has built up relations with 59 countries and regions worldwide, with 37 overseas institutions established in 30 countries and regions. The group has successfully completed several landmark projects, including the hospital expansion in Dominica, the competitive wrestling stadium in Senegal, the power grid in Ghana, the presidential palace in Burundi, the No.1 National Highway in the Republic of Congo and the E60 Expressway in Georgia.
As the chairman of the leading company of the “Going Global” alliance of Hunan Province, Cai Dianwei emphasized that the group should leverage the platform of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo to accelerate the pace of “Going Global” and connect with the countries along the “Belt and Road”, especially the African market.
The group aims to make significant contributions to the economic development, infrastructure improvement, employment, and livelihood enhancement in Africa. With sincerity, the group will strive to improve social well-being and sense of happiness of its employees while accelerating its journey to become a world-class construction investment enterprise.
On July 1, at the Hunan-Africa Product and Tourism Matchmaking Conference organized by HCIG and other institutions, Cai Dianwei, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of HCIG, signed a strategic cooperation agreement for overseas projects in Africa with the China Construction Bank Hunan Branch, in a bid to jointly expand the engineering business in Africa.
At the Hunan-Africa Product and Tourism Matchmaking Conference, Zhou Xiongfei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice chairman of HCIG, delivered a speech on the engineering-based trade cooperation between China and Africa.
At the Hunan-Africa Product and Tourism Matchmaking Conference, Hunan Construction Engineering Group No.2 Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Hunan Industrial Investment Limited for the China-Kenya Economic and Trade Incubation Park Phase II Project.
On June 30, at the project negotiation conference of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Pilot Zone, Hunan International Communications Economic Engineering Cooperation Co., Ltd. and Sino-Hunan Capital signed an agreement for the China-Africa nut industry chain project.
On June 30, at the China-Africa Electricity Sector Labor Cooperation Conference (Xiangxiang, Xiangtan), Sino-Hunan Overseas Engineering and Development Co., Ltd. and Beijing Xiaocheng Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement for the 20MWp ground centralized photovoltaic grid-connected project in Guinea-Bissau.
On June 29, at the China-Africa Infrastructure Cooperation Forum, HCIG signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China Hunan Branch, aiming to jointly expand the overseas engineering business. China- Sino-Hunan Overseas Engineering and Development Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Sentuo Oil Refinery for the oil refinery phase II project in Ghana.
Increasing exchanges

On June 30, at the Investment Promotion Conference of Gansu Province held in Changsha, Cai Dianwei was invited to attend the conference and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the group with representatives of Qingyang City, Gansu Province.
On June 29, Fang Qiuchen, president of the China International Contractors Association, and his delegation visited HCIG to learn about the development of international business.
On June 30, Bai Yinzhan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of China Harbour Engineering Company Limited, and his delegation visited HCIG for negotiations and exchanges.
On the morning of June 28, Alkache Alhada, minister of Commerce of the Republic of Niger, and his delegation visited HCIG for exchanges and investigations.
During the expo, the exhibition hall of HCIG showcased various landmark projects on industry and trade integration, construction industrialization and smart transportation.
Sand table models were used to display iconic projects of the group, including the Aizhai Bridge, the competitive wrestling stadium in Senegal, and the presidential palace in Burundi, attracting numerous guests and citizens.
High-profile attendees like Minister of Works of Burkina Faso, deputy consul general of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana, and Huang Jiachang, president of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles visited HCIG’s exhibition hall.
