Maldives government office building put into use
On the morning of February 15, a ceremony was held on Hulhumalé Island, Maldives, marking the office building of the Maldives government undertaken by Hunan No.6 Engineering Co., Ltd. was put into use.
Wang Qihui, economic and commercial counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Maldives, and Cai Dianwei, chairman of Hunan Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. (HCIG) and several senior government officials of Maldives, like Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, president of Maldives, Mohammad Aslam Watanjar, minister of National Planning and Housing Infrastructure, and Abdulla Shahid, foreign minister, were invited to attend the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Solih extended his congratulations on the operation of the project.
He said that the government office building constructed by HCIG is of great significance for improving the working conditions of government officials, and expressed sincere gratitude to HCIG for its contribution to the continuation of friendship between the Chinese and Malaysian peoples.
Besides, he stated that HCIG, as an international enterprise with a long history and strong strength, fully demonstrated the spirit of fearlessness and outstanding project implementation ability in the severe epidemic situation, and completed the construction task of the government office building with high quality.
In the future, the Maldives government is willing to continue to conduct in-depth exchanges and cooperation with HCIG in such fields as engineering investment, infrastructure construction, and trade.
Cai Dianwei showed his gratitude to the Maldives government, the Chinese Embassy in Maldives and the Ministry of National Planning and Housing Infrastructure for their help and support during the construction of the office building project.
He said that HCIG will continue to develop the Maldives market with the goal of implementing high-standard, sustainable and people-benefiting projects, and further promote cooperation with the Malaysian government to jointly build the “the Belt and Road”, so as to contribute to the continuous and in-depth development of comprehensive and friendly cooperative relations between China and Maldives.
The turnkey project for the design and construction of the Hulhumalé office building is a 7-story (6 storys+1 platform) office building with a construction area of approximately 14,380 square meters. Its construction officially started on February 16, 2020 and was completed in November 2022.
It is a modern office building that combines aesthetics, comfort, practicality, environmental friendliness, and personalization. At present, it has become a government benchmark project in Maldives, and its tropical architectural style has become a beautiful scene in Hulhumalé.
