On the afternoon of September 20, the 2023 China Top 500 Enterprises Summit Forum, was held in Hefei City, Anhui Province. At the forum, the list of Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in 2023 was released. Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) ranked 164th with a revenue of 166.43163 billion yuan (US $23.8968 billion) in 2022.

Cai Dianwei, chairman of the group, was invited to participate in relevant activities such as the 2023 China Top 500 Enterprise Summit Forum and the opening ceremony of the 2023 World Manufacturing Convention. He also gave a keynote speech as a special guest at the high-level symposium of China’s top 500 enterprises.

With the theme of “Forging ahead on a New Journey of Chinese Path to Modernization and Accelerating the Construction of a World-class Enterprise”, the summit forum included nearly 20 activities, such as the parallel forum, release of top 500 Chinese enterprises and the theme forum.

The lists of Top 500 Chinese Enterprises, Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises, and Top 500 Enterprises of Chinese Service Industry in 2023 were released at the forum.

In 2022, the group undertook a business volume of 286 billion yuan (US$41.0648 billion), a year-on-year increase of 16.63%. The total output value of the enterprise reached 178.872 billion yuan (US$25.683 billion), increasing 15.07% year on year. 

It achieved a revenue of 166.432 billion yuan (US$23.8968 billion),  and a total profit of 3.663 billion yuan (US$525.9455 million), rising 14.14% and 15.12% respectively. The tax paid was 4.36 billion yuan (US$626.023 million), up 5.07% year on year.

The group ranked at the forefront among central and provincial enterprises of the same industry in China in terms of the growth rate of various main indicators, setting a new historical record.

The Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in 2023 were evaluated based on the operating revenue of the enterprise in 2022. The total scale continued a growth trend. The total operating revenue of the top 500 Chinese enterprises reached 108.36 trillion yuan (US$15.5587 trillion), an increase of 5.74% compared to the previous year.

 The total assets of the top 500 Chinese enterprises were 399.77 trillion yuan (US$57.4003 trillion), an increase of 7.31% compared to the previous year. The entry threshold of operating revenue for the top 500 Chinese enterprises has been raised for 21 consecutive years, with an entry threshold of 46.998 billion yuan (US$6.7481 billion), an increase of 2.373 billion yuan (US$340.723 million) compared to the previous year.
