The Chinese and Bangladesh governments expressed satisfaction with the progress of major cooperation projects in Bangladesh such as the Rajshahi WASA Surface Water Treatment Plant project in the “Joint Statement between China and Bangladesh on Establishing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” released on July 10.

The Rajshahi WASA Surface Water Treatment Plant project in Bangladesh, undertaken by Hunan Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hunan Construction Investment Group, is an important part of the construction of the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor under the “Belt and Road” initiative, and also an important achievement of the cooperation between the Chinese and Bangladesh governments. After completion of the project, it will effectively solve the problem of safe water use in the Rajshahi area, promote local economic and social development, and improve people’s livelihoods.
