HCIG attends China-Africa People’s Forum and Young Leaders Forum
The 7th China-Africa People’s Forum and the 7th China-Africa Young Leaders Forum were held in Changsha City of Hunan Province from July 24 to 26. Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) participated in the related activities.
The opening ceremony was held on the morning of July 25. More than 200 people, including Cai Dianwei, chairman of HCIG, as well as political leaders, former politicians, young leaders, and representatives of political parties, non-governmental organizations and think tanks from over 50 African countries, attended the opening ceremony.
The China-Africa Business Cooperation and Corporate Social Responsibility Forum, a parallel session of the 7th China-Africa People’s Forum, was held on the afternoon of July 25. 300 representatives of governments, enterprises, and international organizations from countries and regions such as China, Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, and the African Union, focusing on enhancing business cooperation for common development, and people’s well-being, jointly explored the prospects of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises in Africa.
Tan Ding, vice chairman and general manager of HCIG, attended the forum and delivered a speech on behalf of the group. He shared the stories happened in the group’s construction of landmark projects in Africa and its joint efforts with local people to improve their livelihoods.
From multiple dimensions such as community development, education aid, and medical support, he demonstrated that the group is not only committed to infrastructure construction, but also fulfills its social responsibilities to promote the communication and cultural integration between China and Africa.
During the forum, there were also matchmaking activities of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and people’s livelihood cooperation. Chinese and foreign guests conducted on-site negotiation to explore cooperation opportunities and achieve win-win development.
The heads of the International Cooperation Department of the group, HNRB, and Hunan International Communications Economic Engineering Cooperation Co., Ltd. exchanged ideas with representatives from African countries such as Morocco, Libya, and Benin, showcasing the group’s strong capabilities and rich experience in infrastructure construction, road and bridge construction, and international engineering cooperation. Through in-depth communication and interaction, mutual understanding has been enhanced, cooperation perspectives have been broadened, and a solid foundation has been laid for deepening economic and trade cooperation.
As the largest foreign economic enterprise in Hunan and the chairman unit of the “going global” strategic cooperation alliance of the provincial construction industry, HCIG is a firm practitioner of the Belt and Road Initiative and an important participant in China- Africa cooperation. It will continue to deepen cooperation and exchanges with African countries, and contribute to higher-level China-Africa cooperation.
