On December 14, the 2023 Hunan Entrepreneur Activity Day as well as the Entrepreneur Annual conference was held in Changsha to showcase the responsibilities of Hunan enterprises. At the conference, the “Top 100 Hunan Enterprises in 2023” and the enterprises in the “2023 Hunan Corporate Social Responsibility Report” were announced. Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) made it to the list with an operating revenue of 166.4316.3 billion yuan (US$24.346 billion) in 2022, ranking third among the top 100 Hunan enterprises in 2023.

In July 2022, Hunan Construction Investment Group was formed by the Hunan Construction Engineering Group, Hunan Transportation and Water Conservancy Construction Group, and some subsidiaries of Hunan Development Group. It aims to develop into a world-class construction and investment enterprise, fully demonstrating the responsibility of Hunan’s large state-owned enterprises.

The entry threshold for the top 100 enterprises in Hunan stood at 5,200 million yuan (US$746.632 million) of operating revenue. The total operating revenue of the top 100 Hunan enterprises in 2023 hit 2.631 trillion yuan (US$377.7676 billion). The number of 10-billion-yuan enterprises increased to 62 from 39 in 2019. And 15 of the top 100 enterprises have been shortlisted for the top 500 service enterprises in China. These enterprises have made significant contributions to the economic development of the province.
