Xue Bing visits HCIG
Xue Bing, special envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) for inspection together with his delegation on the afternoon of October 30. Chen Kejun, employee director of the group, warmly greeted them.
Xue Bing congratulated HCIG on its strong international business development momentum in recent years and the continuous expansion of economic and trade cooperation with Africa.
He said that the successful convening of the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will help build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era and provide more development opportunities for Chinese enterprises to participate in the cooperation in Africa’s industrial and supply chains in many fields, such as infrastructure construction, mineral resources development, and import and export tariffs.
HCIG should expand the scope of economic and trade investment cooperation with Africa during the three-year period of the China-Africa “Ten Partnership Actions”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide full support for Chinese enterprises’ investment and development in Africa with relevant departments.
Chen Kejun said that in recent years, the group has completed nearly 50 projects in Africa with a contract amount of nearly 10 billion yuan. It has delivered a batch of high-quality livelihood projects in countries of the Horn of Africa, such as the Adigoshu Huamera-Ludgi Road Upgrading Project in Ethiopia.
Next, the group will strengthen economic and trade cooperation with Africa at a deeper level and in multiple fields in accordance with the policy guidance of the “Ten Partnership Actions”, and tap into more potential of project cooperation in the Horn of Africa, making new and greater contributions to the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road”.
