The 2024 China Transportation Industry BIM Conference and the awarding ceremony of the first “Shijin Cup” BIM Technology Competition were held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province on December 15. Hunan Communications Research Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hunan Construction Investment Group, won one gold award, one silver award, one bronze award, one excellent award and excellent organization award in the competition. 

The “Shijin Cup” BIM Technology Competition is a national level BIM competition hosted by the China Transport Association and organized by such units as Chang’an University, Beijing Jiaotong University and China Transport Association Training Center and other units. 

The competition covers a wide range of fields, including transportation infrastructure construction and operation, as well as related areas. 

Since its launch in June 2024, the BIM application benchmarks in the transportation industry has been selected out in the past 5 months after the evaluation of all submitted projects through preliminary evaluation, final defense, and public announcement of evaluation results. 

The gold award goes to the application of BIM technology in the design and construction optimization of the complex projects of Xiangjiang River in Zhangshu Port of Yueyang City. 

The company won the silver award in the forward design and smart building BIM key technology application of the fourth contract section of the Yiyang-Changde Highway expansion project. 

The excellent results achieved in this competition have further consolidated the leading position of the institute in the field of BIM technology. In the future, it will continue to deepen the research and application of BIM technology, promote the transformation and empowerment of new quality productivity, thus contributing to the high-quality development of the transportation industry.
