HCIG attends unveiling ceremony of CIETAC China-Africa Trial Center
The unveiling ceremony of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) China-Africa Trial Center, along with the China-Africa International Arbitration Cooperation Conference, was held in Changsha, Hunan Province on June 13.
Fang Zheng, general counsel and chief compliance officer of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) delivered a speech on the conference.
Themed “Interconnectivity, Shared Growth and Collaborative Innovation--The Innovative Development and Innovation of China-Africa International Arbitration”, the one-day event aims to build a broad platform for exchanges in the field of arbitration between China and Africa.
Through sharing arbitration experiences, resources and information between two sides, it also aims to break down geographical and institutional barriers, promote in-depth exchanges in arbitration concepts and practices, encourage the arbitration communities of China and Africa to explore new mechanisms and models that meet the needs of both sides, and work together to address new challenges and opportunities in the field of international commercial arbitration.
In the topic discussion, centered on the legal practices and innovation of China-Africa arbitration cooperation in the context of the “Belt & Road” Initiative, Fang Zheng discussed the innovation path of China-Africa arbitration cooperation based on the group’s practical experiences from three aspects: the practical significance of building a China-Africa arbitration cooperation base in Hunan province, building a new ecology of China-Africa arbitration for the future, and the practice of HCIG from risk
management to rule formulation. In the current context of deepening economic globalization, trade and investment cooperation between China and Africa is constantly advancing to new heights, and so HCIG is willing to work together with enterprises, institutions, and governments to create “soft connectivity” in the legal field, with Hunan as the fulcrum, to leverage the future integration of legal rules between China and Africa.
The relevant executives from the Group's Enterprise Management Department (Legal Affairs Center), HNRB, Hunan Industrial Equipment Installation, and SHICO attended the meeting.
