Congo delegation visits HCIG

Paluku Kahongya Julien, minister of the Foreign Commerce of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Balumuene Nkuna Francois, ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in China, led a delegation to visit Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) on the morning of June 13. Tan Ding, vice chairman and general manager of HCIG, warmly received them.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is located in Central Africa, with abundant natural resources. It’s the second largest country in terms of land area and the fourth largest in terms of population in Africa. It’s also the world’s largest French speaking country, and its mineral resource reserves such as cobalt and copper rank among the top in the world.

Paluku Kahongya Julien expressed gratitude for the warm reception of HCIG and highly appreciated HCIG for its long-term positive contributions to the development of infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

He stated that HCIG has strong strength and outstanding advantages in infrastructure, clean energy, connectivity and other fields. The Democratic Republic of Congo has abundant resources, huge potential and broad space, which is a vibrant development hot spot.

Currently, the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo is promoting a series of projects that benefit the national economy and people’s livelihood in transportation infrastructure, affordable housing, new energy and other fields.

He welcomed HCIG to continue to leverage its comprehensive service advantages in related fields, actively integrate into local economic and social development, and promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries to achieve more practical results.

Balumuene Nkuna Francois hoped that HCIG and all parties in the Democratic Republic of Congo would continue to strengthen communications and cooperation, create more landmark projects, and make greater contributions to consolidating and developing the friendship between China and Congo. 

The embassy will provide necessary support for HCIG’s business development in Congo. 

Tan Ding welcomed Paluku Kahongya Julien, Balumuene Nkuna Francois and their delegation, and introduced the overall development of the group and its business operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

He stated that in recent years, bilateral relations between the two countries have continued to deepen, cooperation areas have been continuously expanded, and cooperation achievements have emerged continuously. 

HCIG is deeply involved in promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, actively participates in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, and attaches great importance to the Congolese market. 

The group is willing to give full play to its own advantages, increase investment in high-quality resources, provide full support for the construction of infrastructure connectivity, new energy and livelihood projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and help enhance China-Congo friendship and deepen China-Congo comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
