Camalaniugan Bridge in the Philippines, the first overseas mega bridge EPC project, built by Hunan Road & Bridge Construction Group Co. Ltd., (HNRB), a subsidiary of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG), was fully connected on May 16. The project is expected to be fully completed and opened to traffic within the year.

The Camalaniugan Bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge independently invested and built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of Republic of the Philippines, with a total length of 1,580 meters. It's the only bridge across the Philippines, with a total length of 1580 meters. It is the only bridge across the Cagayan River in the North Ilocos region and also the longest bridge over the Cagayan River.

Once completed, the project will remove traffic barriers between both sides of the river and is of great significance for promoting the regional economic and social development.

Faced with multiple challenges during the construction period such as epidemic prevention and control, complex geological conditions and insufficient construction resources, the project team ensured the safety, quality, and progress through scientific organization and meticulous management.

Especially after the main bridge was completed in September last year, facing unfavorable factors such as the significant reduction in construction funds due to the economic downturn in the Philippines, the project management team implemented effective measures such as optimizing resource allocation and strengthening fund control, ultimately connecting the entire bridge as planned.

Next, the project team will make continuous efforts to promote the construction of the bridge deck ancillary facilities with high standards, continuously strengthen quality and safety control, and ensure the project is delivered on schedule and with high quality.

The Camalaniugan Bridge is the first overseas bridge project independently undertaken by HNRB under the design and construction general contracting mode. It has achieved the first export of large-scale bridge design and construction technology by local enterprises in Hunan Province.

It has been awarded a typical project of outward investment and economic cooperation in Hunan Province's construction industry in 2021.

HNRB will leverage the positive image established through projects such as the Camalaniugan Bridge to further promote China through multi-level exchanges in technology, safety and culture. Efforts will also be made to strengthen the road and bridge construction brand effect, build more tangible and intangible bridges, in a bid to continuously promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
