Vice Governor Wang Junshou visits Uzbekistan
To integrate into the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), help implement the provincial "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" strategy, further expand high-level opening up and deepen Uzbekistan's economic and trade cooperation, Wang Junshou, vice governor of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, led a delegation to visit Uzbekistan from August 17 to 19.
They also attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation framework agreement on the Tashkent urban renewal project of Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG).
Cai Dianwei, chairman of HCIG, led representatives from relevant units of the group to participate in the tour with the delegation.
Meng Xiangding, a first level inspector of the General Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province, Huang Donghong, director of the Civil Affairs Department of Hunan Province, Lin Deyong, director of the Local Financial Administration of Hunan Province, Guo Ning, deputy director of the Commerce Department of Hunan Province, Jiang Jun, deputy director of the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province, Lei Guangming, deputy director of the Market Supervision Administration of Hunan Province and other relevant department heads were present in the delegation.
On August 18, the signing ceremony of the cooperation framework agreement for the Tashkent urban renewal project was successfully held.
Wang Junshou led a delegation to attend the ceremony and delivered a speech. Shakirov Bahrom, chairman of Tashkent Invest Company, and Qodirov Rustam, vice chairman from Uzbekistan were present to witness the signing.
Sino-Hunan International Engineering and Development Co., Ltd. (SHICO) on behalf of the group signed an agreement with GOLD MOUNT Group.
Wang Junshou said in his speech that Uzbekistan is an important node country in the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. As an important force in the rise strategy of central China, Hunan attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with the government and enterprises of Uzbekistan.
This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uzbekistan. China-Uzbekistan relations have been elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.
We are willing to work with Uzbekistan to share new opportunities for development, tap into the potential of cooperation, and jointly create a new model of practical cooperation between China and Uzbekistan at the local level.
He hopes HCIG can fully leverage its leading role in Hunan's "going global" strategy, actively integrate into local development, create more benchmark projects that benefit both countries, and contribute to friendly cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.
Shakirov Bahrom stated that Uzbekistan is currently developing rapidly, and as the largest city in Central Asia, the capital Tashkent urgently needs to accelerate road upgrades, new energy, and infrastructure construction to meet development needs. HCIG is welcomed to continue to leverage its professional and experience advantages, further increase investment in high-quality resources, and deeply participate in the construction of Tashkent city. He hopes both parties take this cooperation as an opportunity and carry out more constructive cooperation in more fields in the future.
The urban renewal project will comprehensively upgrade and transform the urban areas of Uzbekistan, helping Tashkent move towards a new stage of modernization and development, and become a modern, livable, and sustainable city. It will also drive the development of multiple local industries, create a large number of employment opportunities, boost economic growth, promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.
The first phase of the project will construct residential, school, hospital, cultural, and commercial facilities, as well as improve transportation, energy, and water supply systems.
After the signing ceremony, Cai Dianwei and his delegation had a discussion and exchange with Shakirov Bahrom, chairman of Tashkent Invest Company.
The two sides both expressed that they would fully seize the opportunities of China-Uzbekistan strategic cooperation, rely on the advantages of the whole industrial chain of HCIG and the local market of Tashkent Invest Company, expand the cooperation between the two sides in infrastructure construction, new energy, international trade and other fields, achieve win-win cooperation and common development, and better serve the construction of the "the Belt and Road" Initiative and the economic and social development of Uzbekistan.
At the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Cai Dianwei and his delegation had a discussion and exchange with Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on further deepening cooperation between Hunan and Uzbekistan in fields such as engineering machinery, infrastructure construction, international trade, agriculture.
On August 19, Cai Dianwei accompanied the delegation to the site of the Tashkent Municipal Road Upgrading and Renovation Project. They conducted on-site inspections of the project construction, and learned about the project implementation environment and quality construction standards.
Subsequently, they exchanged views with Uzbekistan students from previous foreign aid training courses on the effectiveness and practical application of foreign aid training programs, as well as the promotion of talent exchange and cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.
During this visit, Cai Dianwei and his delegation went to CITIC Construction's office in Uzbekistan to communicate with Wu Shiwen about the cooperation in the Uzbekistan 500,000-ton sulfur to sulfuric acid project.
The project is undertaken and implemented by Hunan Industrial Equipment Installation Co.,Ltd., a subsidiary of the group. At the meeting, relevant arrangements were made for the project's preparation work and subsequent plans.
Officials from the Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Department of Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, the Command Center of Hunan Provincial Public Security Department, and the Foreign Investment and Trade Department of Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission attended the event.
Representatives from the International Cooperation Department of HCIG, Hunan Road and Bridge, Hunan Installation, SHICO, and Hunan International Communications Economic Engineering Cooperation COLTD were also present.
