Mohamed Muizzu said that in January 2024, the Maldives reached a cooperation consensus with China in the fields of high-quality co-construction of the “Belt and Road”, economic technology, green development, infrastructure, and people’s livelihood.

As a company from Hunan, China, HCIG is an important witness and participant in the economic and social development of the Maldives. Over the years, HCIG has undertaken multiple projects that benefit the people in the local area, which have not only greatly improved the quality of life of the Maldivian people, but also established a trustworthy corporate image.

The Maldives’ sustainable development plan is highly consistent with the high-quality co-construction of the “Belt and Road” proposed by China. It is hoped that HCIG can give full play to its own advantages to deepen cooperation in key areas such as bridges, municipal administration and housing construction, so as to help the Maldives achieve a higher level of socio-economic development.

Cai Dianwei thanked the president and the Maldivian people for their strong support and trust. The group has built a series of livelihood projects such as municipal and housing construction in the Maldives, contributing to the economic and social development and improvement of people’s livelihoods in the Maldives. Last year, the president visited China, and the relationship between the two countries was elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

This visit aims to implement the cooperation consensus reached by the two countries and build more key livelihood projects benefiting the Maldivian people under the framework of high-quality co-construction of the “Belt and Road”.

As a state-owned enterprise in Hunan Province, the group will deeply participate in the high-quality co-construction of the “Belt and Road” to help Hunan Province build a highland of reform and opening up in inland areas, and accelerate the construction of a series of projects in infrastructure construction, livelihood projects, new energy industry, etc. in the Maldives.

This exchange has injected new momentum into the cooperation between the two sides. With the strong support of the Maldivian government, the group will step up efforts to deepen cooperation, hoping to promote the China-Maldives friendship with more high-quality projects.
