Hunan Road & Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd. (HNRB), a subsidiary of Hunan Construction and Investment Group, won the bid for the roadway improvement works in the cultural and creative district of Cotonou, Benin recently, with the contract value of US $ 11.676 million. 

The project is located in the 5th district of Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin, involving the renovation of 11 roads, with a total length of 2.726 kilometers and the contract period of 6 months. 

The main construction contents include earthwork, asphalt concrete pavement, sidewalk pavers, reinforced concrete gutters, curb and single-arm solar street lights. 

The project is surrounded by a number of government departments, embassies and consulates and commercial institutions, with dense population, busy traffic, which leads to difficulty in construction and high safety and environmental requirements.

After HNRB entered the Benin market in 2018, it has implemented 5 projects, and two of them are currently under construction. The cumulative amount of the bids it won exceeded over 2 billion yuan. 

The performance ability and social responsibility of HNRB have been highly praised by owners, supervisors and financing institutions, which have been reported by the local media. HNRB has established a good image as a Chinese-funded enterprise. 

This bid is a phased result of HNRB’s efforts to expand markets in Benin, which will also lay a solid foundation for its sustainable development in Benin in the future.
