Cai Dianwei gives speech at int’l contracting development forum
The 2025 China International Contracting Conference & Development Forum was hosted by the China International Contractors Association in Beijing from April 24 to 25. Hunan Construction Investment Group (HCIG) was first listed among the top 100 Chinese international contracting enterprises. Cai Dianwei, chairman of the group, gave a keynote speech at the forum. Liu Yiqi, vice general manager of the group, also attended it.
More than 500 leaders and representatives from relevant government departments, associations and chambers of commerce, financial institutions, enterprises, and news media attended the forum.
The list of top 100 Chinese international contracting enterprises was released at the forum. The present guests analyzed the latest development trends, key areas, and key fields and market situations in the industry to explore new paths for collaborative development.
Cai Dianwei gave a systematic explanation of HCIG’s innovative practices in deeply cultivating the African market. The group has implemented national strategies to seek new opportunities for development. It has taken active measures to integrate into the construction of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the China- Africa Economic and Trade In-depth Cooperation Pilot Zone in a bid to expand the African market. It has also worked together with others in the construction industry chain to build a new development pattern so as to increase the integration of professional sectors and strengthen financial empowerment. Meanwhile, it has made efforts to promote industrial and trade linkages, injecting new momentum into the development.
The group will implement the spirit of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, clarify the development direction of economic and trade cooperation with Africa, and work hard to upgrade the business model and strengthen the mutual empowerment of industry and trade.
The group started international business in the late 1950s through China-aided labor services. After decades of development, it had achieved the overseas business volume of over 20 billion yuan by 2024. It has become the largest foreign economic cooperation enterprise in Hunan Province.
Africa is one of the main strongholds of the group’s overseas business. As of now, the group has done business with 25 African countries and has established 20 overseas offices in 15 African countries. It has 66 engineering projects in 17 African countries, involving such fields as housing construction, highways, bridges, water conservancy, power grids, environmental protection, and industrial equipment installation.
